The Source of Information
Today is a good day to simply get things done, Pisces. Take care of the
annoying tasks that have been accumulating. You have a great opportunity
to accomplish a lot. People are less concerned with frivolous drivel
and gossip than they are with setting a plan to meet an important goal.
Contribute to this trend by getting serious about the tasks at hand.
I took this from a real horoscope website. Notice the simple phrases and words that can be interpreted in any number of ways? Yeah, that's the hallmark of horoscopes. They are written in such a way that you can interpret them to come true.
We spend a lot of time and energy on reading and interpreting signs. We wants our dreams analyzed. We see events in our lives as meaningful signs that direct our paths. We even pray for signs of what to do.
But how often do we seek revelation from sources other than God and his word? We do it all the time. We ask our friends, our neighbors, our family, our doctors and even social media to gives us wisdom and read the tea leaves. We look up symptoms on Google. We tell our dream to our spouse, hoping for understanding.
In Daniel 2, Daniel is tasked with interpreting the dream of the king. Not only must we interpret the dream, but he also must tell the king EXACTLY what he dreamed. It is an impossible task for any human being.
Daniel knows this. So do his three friends. So they pray. I don't know how long they pray, but they pray for a specified time for God to bring revelation. He does. He sends Daniel the dream and the interpretation of the dream. In the end, God gets credit for doing what no other religious person or god could do.
The truth is God is the only God. He is the only one who can reveal truth. We have a lot of knowledge in the world. It still pales in comparison to the knowledge of God.
As we seek answers in the world, we can go to the source of the answers. Through prayer, we can access the creator of the universe. We don't need horoscopes or the Internet to give us answers. We can find the answers to the most important questions in the Bible.
So, where will you turn for revelation?
